Kings of the Road
Kings of the Road (Im Lauf der Zeit) is a 1976 German road movie directed by Wim Wenders.
I found an interview of Wim Wenders many years later after the film’s release, where he explained that he created the movie by having the whole crew (his several friends) driving through an itineray of pre-war theaters along the inner German border, and mostly writing up scripts alone the night before filming.
Inspired by Charles Joseph Minard’s 1812 map on Napolean’s March, I created a poster series to visualize the traveling route and improvised storylines of the film.
